Artists :: Andrew "Mudrock" Murdock

Biography

Andrew ‘Mudrock’ Murdock has been recording and producing records for nearly three decades. Probably most known for his work with heavy metal artists, Godsmack, he’s also produced a host of artists in myriad styles—from the heavy rock of Revolution Mother, Throwdown or Anew Revolution to the complex jazz of Django Bates.

In 2004, Mudrock opened the doors of The Hobby Shop in the Los Angeles area, along with fellow Bostonian, musician/composer Scott Gilman. One of the studio’s first projects was the platinum-selling release ‘City of Evil’ for Avenged Sevenfold. In the years since, they’ve recorded and/or mixed a host of cutting-edge artists including Riverboat Gamblers, Lou Barlow, Mark Lanagan, Powerman 5000, Kristin Hersh, Airborne Toxic Event, Powerman 5000, The Bravery and Black Francis, to name a mere few.

Mudrock has mixed every project he’s produced since 2006 on a DV-RA1000 and recently upgraded to the DV-RA1000HD. "In the years I have used the DV-RA1000, I have come to rely on its dependability and audio quality. Finally there is a digital answer to analog half-inch! The converters sound amazing and the functions are clear and well thought out… At this point I can't live without it!"
