2007-03-31 - GigaStudio Composer To Score Feature Films

Los Angeles based Composer, Sharon Farber, has a busy summer schedule ahead of her. Having recently finished her second season on the Emmy Award winning NBC daytime series "Starting Over", Sharon is gearing up to do back to back film scores.

First on the agenda is "When Nietzsche Wept", starring Armand Assante as Nietzche and Ben Cross as Dr. Breuer. The dramatic period piece, based on the best-selling book by Ervin Yalom, is Produced and Directed by Pinchas Perry for Millennium Films. Executive Producers on "Nietzsche" are Avi Lerner and Danny Dimbort. Scoring is to begin mid-Summer.

Sharon will then begin scoring "The Tribe" a horror/thriller feature Directed by Jorg Ihle and Produced by Mo Ramchandani for Avatar Entertainment Group. The project is currently filming in Costa Rica. Scoring will take place in late Summer/early Fall.

Prior films for Ms. Farber include "Final Draft", "Call Me Sirr", "In A Class of His Own", and "Brothers Grimm" among others. She also has contributed additional music for the NBC daytime drama "Passions".

Sharon has an extremely strong presence in the world of concert music, having her work "The Third Mother/Mothers' Lament" performed by the LA Master Chorale, under the direction of Maestro Grant Gershon, in 2002, honoring the life of the late Daniel Pearl. Her commissioned works have been performed internationally and she has recently been commissioned by The Israel Symphony Orchestra to compose a new orchestral work for their 2007 season.
