2008-10-06 - DAVID ISAAC MIXES SMV IN DSD WITH TASCAM DV-RA1000HD

Landmark Collaboration of Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten Mixed in Pristine Direct Stream Digital

Montebello, CA (October 6, 2008): David Isaac has chosen TASCAM's DV-RA1000HD as the mixdown medium for SMV's Thunder, the unique jazz collaboration of Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten. The recorder's low-end response was put to the test with the debut recording of this unique trio of bass players, which also includes performances by Chick Corea, George Duke and others.

"What I love about the DV-RA1000HD is how it pulls me into listening to more music when I turn it on!" said three-time Grammy® winning producer/mix engineer David Isaac. "I find myself listening to entire CDs to see what new things I may hear, things I missed with other players or from vinyl. Sometimes it sounds like I can reach out and touch a musician or vocalist - which really makes the DV-RA an audiophile piece of gear!"

Isaac's audiophile comments on the DV-RA1000HD were recently echoed by Stereophile magazine, which recently listed it as a "Class A Recommended Component." The DV-RA1000HD has also been acclaimed by Pro Audio Review, which gave it a "Reviewer's Pick" and the Mix Foundation, which awarded the TEC award for Most Innovative Recording Device.

The DV-RA1000HD is a stereo recorder with up to 192kHz/24-bit recording as well as Direct Stream Digital recoding, the format designed by Sony for the Super Audio CD. It includes a 60GB hard drive and DVD-RW drive for recording and backup, as well as a selection of analog and digital connectivity.
